We also want to not only be faithful stewards of what the Lord has entrusted to us but to also meet the demands and expectations of our congregations and the public. CapinCrouse LLP is pleased to offer this seminar to provide you with the latest information churches need to know. Sessions are designed to serve church business administrators, administrative and executive pastors, finance managers, treasurers, and finance committee members, who need to understand key issues affecting their ministries today.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Important updates from CapinCrouse partners, subject-matter experts, and an interactive panel discussion including leaders from local churches. CPE credit will be offered and topics may include the following:
- Financial Oversight from Congress to Your Congregation
Churches are under significant pressure and scrutiny from the inside out. The public is concerned about transparency as indicated by recent congressional initiatives. This session will focus on the nature of the concern being raised and how your church can identify issues and risks that need to be managed through financial oversight. It will then present key aspects of financial oversight that need to be fulfilled to mitigate the identified risks.
- Tax and Legislative Developments Affecting Ministers and Churches
Change has become the norm and new initiatives are occurring in many areas, such as health care reform, challenge to the tax status of ministers, and reporting for churches. Congress and the IRS are pushing to create new or enhance existing sources of revenue, such as unrelated business income tax. This session will present Important Long-Term Issues and Hot Short Term Issues that church leaders need to know!
- Panel Discussion: Changing Demographics and Ministry Opportunities - How are we Responding?
Church membership is more fluid than ever these days - more and more, people are splitting their time between multiple congregations. Shifting memberships can impact churches in a variety of ways. We'll discuss the implications of the changing demographics on how churches minister to their congregations as well as budget for contributions and expenses.
- Managing the Benefits Maze
Health care reform is a key area of focus these days. However, that is only one benefit that we can offer our employees. Join an employee benefits specialist as she discusses various options that are available to churches.
