Another Large Global Cyberattack Is Underway

Less than two months after the massive WannaCry ransomware attack hit organizations in 153 countries, another global cyberattack is underway.

Authorities are investigating a “global ransomware incident” that is affecting organizations in the United States, United Kingdom, Denmark, Ukraine, Russia, and other countries. The ransomware may be exploiting vulnerabilities using tools and methods similar to those deployed in the WannaCry attack.

Victims in the United States include Heritage Valley Health System, a hospital and health care system in Pennsylvania that had to reschedule medical procedures and restore its network after the attack.
