Join Us at the CLA 2019 Outcomes Conference

We’re looking forward to the Christian Leadership Alliance 2019 Outcomes Conference in Dallas in a few weeks.

This annual conference draws Christ-centered leaders together for learning, networking, collaboration, and inspiration. The theme this year is “Rooted.”

We are pleased that several members of our firm will be leading workshops and sharing their insight during the conference.

Nathan Salsbery, Partner and Executive Vice President, will present Compensation Optimization: Attract, Grow, Retain with David K. Schunk, President and CEO of Volunteers of America Colorado. Join them during the HR Leaders Forum on Wednesday, April 17. Nathan and David will provide a case study and practical tools to help you develop an effective compensation strategy that keeps your employees engaged and your organization compliant with the many regulations.

Ted Batson, Partner, Tax Counsel, and Professional Practice Leader – Tax, and Ashley Peabody, Manager, are leading the Nonprofit Tax and UBIT Update on Wednesday from 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. There have been many nonprofit tax changes recently, and Ted and Ashley will provide an update on tax reform and other relevant changes. They’ll also summarize unrelated business income tax (UBIT) rules, including the new parking, qualified transportation, and siloing rules.

An effective information security program, including a risk assessment, is vital to keeping your organization’s data secure. Lisa Traina, Partner, and Holly Boullion, Principal of Traina & Associates, a CapinCrouse company,* are teaching a Full-Day Intensive Seminar on Information Security Programs and Risk Assessments. Join them on Thursday, April 18 to learn about common information security threats and vulnerabilities. They’ll also explain how to mitigate risks, conduct ongoing risk assessments, and best implement an information security program at your nonprofit.

Learn about current accounting and auditing standards — including the many recent changes — during the Accounting and Auditing Update with Fran Brown, Managing Partner and Frank Jakosz, Partner and Quality Assurance Director. Their workshop from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Thursday will cover the financial statement changes, new pronouncements on contributions and exchange transactions, and other important updates.

And Dave Moja, Partner, will lead the Tax and Legal Forum with Chip Watkins, Attorney at Webster, Chamberlain & Bean. Join them on Thursday from 3:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. to learn about significant late-breaking tax and other legal developments. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions about nonprofit tax and legal issues, and will gain the knowledge to implement policies that reflect the latest tax and accounting changes and plan for what’s ahead.
