SBA and Treasury Agree to Make More PPP Data Public

On Friday, June 19, the Small Business Administration (SBA) and the U.S. Department of the Treasury issued a press release stating they have agreed to make additional data regarding the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) public. The release states that this “will ensure that the interests of both transparency and protections for small businesses are served.”

According to the release, the SBA will disclose the following information regarding PPP loan recipients:

  • Business names
  • Addresses
  • NAICS code
  • ZIP codes
  • Business type
  • Demographic data
  • Nonprofit information
  • Jobs supported
  • Loan amount ranges as follows:
    • $150,000 – $350,000
    • $350,000 – $1 million
    • $1 – $2 million
    • $2 – $5 million
    • $5 – $10 million

For loans below $150,000, totals will be released, aggregated by ZIP code, by industry, by business type, and by various demographic categories.

It does not appear that churches or associations or conventions of churches will be exempt from this reporting.
