CapinCrouse Appoints Three New Partners

CapinCrouse is pleased to announce that Christopher M. DuKate, Brent R. Smith, and Kenneth Q. Tan have been admitted as partners in the firm effective June 1, 2021. Each of these outstanding professionals serves our clients, firm, and communities with distinction.

Christopher M. DuKate has a passion for serving mission-minded organizations. He joined CapinCrouse in 2019 and has 15 years of experience providing auditing, accounting, and consulting services to nonprofit and higher education clients. His expertise includes audits in accordance with Uniform Guidance.

Chris is based in the firm’s Indianapolis office and serves on the national Higher Education team. He is a member of the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) Not-for-Profit Advisory Committee Resource Group, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and the Indiana CPA Society, and regularly speaks at regional and national conferences.

Brent R. Smith has devoted his career to working with nonprofits. He joined CapinCrouse in 2013 and has more than 16 years of public accounting experience working with a wide variety of nonprofit organizations. While he primarily provides assurance services to clients, he also has experience in nonprofit tax.

Brent is based out of CapinCrouse’s Boston and New York offices, serving clients throughout the Northeast. Brent also serves on the firm’s national Church and Denomination and Higher Education teams and is a member of the AICPA and the Massachusetts Society of CPAs.

Kenneth Q. Tan is committed to always making a positive impact on the nonprofits he serves. Ken joined CapinCrouse in 2019 as a member of the Consulting team and currently serves a wide range of nonprofits nationwide. His more than 11 years of experience includes serving as the controller and corporate officer for a large faith-based multi-national mission agency. Ken is also a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA).

Based in Atlanta, Ken is also on the firm’s Church and Denomination team. He is a regular speaker at regional and national conferences and contributes articles to industry and firm publications. Ken is a member of the AICPA, Georgia Society of CPAs, and Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
